Iron Lion Zion is an interactive installation made as part of a VVVV workshop in Berlin. VVVV is a powerful visual scripting tool used to build many of today’s innovative interactive installations, from Museums to Car Showrooms, the best of the best in the industry use VVVV in conjunction with Resolume or Madmapper projection mapping software. For this project I wanted to create something fun and beautiful to look at. Bright colours are always a win for me as they simply improve anyone’s mood. I also like the geometric aesthetic.
So how does this installation work? There are several coloured triangles on the wall, when someone presses one of these triangles, it activates a roar and triggers a coloured lighting path. To reveal the full shape of the Iron Lion Zion installation, all triangles must be triggered. This project was built using a kinnect and three different software programmes, VVVV, Adobe After Effects and Resolume VJing software.
